The Ironman ATIS 1000 AB Training System inversion therapy table is the ‘starter’ model in the ATIS line by Ironman. Made by Paradigm Health and Fitness now, The ATIS 1000 is a fairly impressive table for being under $280 (MSRP, but can be found on Amazon.com cheaper). The main advantage in buying the Ironman 1000 ATIS would be for the core training capabilities provided.

Our Ironman ATIS 1000 AB Inversion Table Review
[tabs slidertype="top tabs"] [tabcontainer] [tabtext]Ease of Use[/tabtext] [tabtext]Features[/tabtext] [tabtext]Quality[/tabtext] [tabtext]Customer Reviews[/tabtext] [/tabcontainer] [tabcontent] [tab]The 1000 ATIS by Ironman is fairly easy to use, and has some cool features that I really like when it comes to core training (the ‘AB’ in the product name indicates that it is designed for abdominal and core workouts). As with any inversion system, the main concerns customers typically have are:
- Can you invert and come back to your starting (un-inverted) position easily
- Is the system comfortable on your ankles/feet
- Is it hard to set up
For items number 1 and 2, this particular model does a very good job. Customers do not have any issues in terms of easily and steadily inverting on this table, and having the ability to adjust the angle at which you invert is an added plus for those who do not want to invert a full 90 degrees. In terms of comfort, the upgraded ‘Scale Locking System’ for your feet is very comfortable on both your ankles and feet (upgraded vs the Gravity 1000 and 2000 models by Ironman). With set up, you may have some issues – there are a lot of parts and pieces to put together. While everything comes organized, you can expect to spend a few hours setting everything up. Finally, storage with the ATIS 1000 is good – you can fold up the inversion table fairly easily (this is not an option on the ATIS 4000 or 3500), and as such could be purchased by someone in tighter spaces without a dedicated area to the inversion system. [/tab] [tab]For less than $280, y0u get a lot of great features with the Ironman ATIS 1000:
- Smart Gear System that allows you to lock yourself into 10 different inversion angles – most people love this system much more than the traditional ‘strap’ used by most other companies. However, pay attention early and make sure there are no issues with the gears, as some customers have mentioned that the system can have some issues at times.
- Scale Ankle locking system that is basically like the locking system on the ATIS 4000 WITHOUT the easy to reach handle. If you are someone with limited mobility, then this is probably not the table you are looking for because of this fact. Is this really a negative on the table? I wouldn’t say so, as most inversion tables do not come with this. However, it is something you want to be aware of.
- Full, 90 degree inversion capable – and can lock in that position too
- Comes with rubber, non-skidding stabilizers which are good both for your floor and for stabilizing the machine while in use
- Safety handles on the side which are covered in foam
- Inverted hand grips – these I really like, as you can do more advanced stretching and traction therapy while inverting
[/tab] [tab]The Atis 1000 is constructed well and should do a good job for normal wear and tear. The company states this comes with a ‘Heavy-Duty’ steel frame, but I really wish that Paradigm would submit to and make sure there tables passed UL 1647 certification (the lack of such testing is typically why I recommend Teeter more than any other brand).[/tab] [tab]Customers really like the Ironman ATIS 1000 Inversion Therapy system. On Amazon.com it gets 4.5 / 5 stars, with no ratings below a 3-star rating. Most of the people love the locking mechanism and ankle locks, but some do have issues with screws not being tight as they should, or other small workmanship issues.[/tab] [/tabcontent] [/tabs]
